Overview

The 35th Bamberg Short Film Festival took place at the end of January 2025, continuing the long tradition of Bavaria's oldest short film festival. Over 150 films, the competition for the Golden Centaur in the categories of feature-length, animated, documentary, experimental, and children's films, as well as numerous special programmes, once again attracted several thousand visitors to Bamberg's cinemas.

For its 35th edition in 2025, the Bamberg Short Film Festival once again presented its proven concept: a festival week in January with a competition, special programmes, and children's films, complemented by a subsequent online phase. At the main venues Odeon Kino and Kesselhaus am Leinritt, the audience, professional jury, regional jury, and youth jury awarded prizes in seven categories. The festival confirmed its reputation as an important platform for short filmmakers from across the German-speaking world.
