Overview

In 2025, the Bamberg Christmas Market again attracted numerous Advent visitors to the UNESCO World Heritage old town from November 25 to December 23. In the pedestrian zone between Maximiliansplatz, Grüner Markt, and Obstmarkt, wooden stalls offered Christmas decorations, bratwurst, gingerbread, and mulled wine. As usual, admission was free, and the program focused on classic Franconian Advent tradition against a Baroque backdrop.

The Bamberg Christmas Market 2025 opened on November 25, 2025, and concluded on December 23, 2025. The venue was once again Bamberg's pedestrian zone between Maximiliansplatz, Grüner Markt, and Obstmarkt – right in the heart of Bamberg's UNESCO World Heritage site.

The approximately four-week market period attracted many day-trippers from Upper Franconia, Thuringia, and all of Bavaria to the old town. The wooden stalls offered Christmas decorations, wooden toys, nativity figures, Franconian bratwurst, gingerbread from Nuremberg, roasted almonds, mulled wine, and specialty Bamberg beers. The organizer was the Bamberg City Administration Office, and admission was free as always.
