The 2025 festival edition in spring laid the groundwork for the major 2026 anniversary edition, presenting international guests and the Thüringer Staatsballett at the three venues of Theater Altenburg Gera under the motto "Dance Innovation." The 2025 festival brochure launched the advance sales season for Gera26.

Review of Ballet Festival 2025

With the 2025/26 season, Theater Altenburg Gera began the anniversary year of its dance ensemble. The festival brochure was presented in early autumn 2025, and advance sales for the international guest companies started immediately. In the preceding season, the Thüringer Staatsballett under Ballet Director Vitaliy Petrov conducted intensive rehearsals for Emanuele Babici's "Romeo and Juliet" production, which will premiere in May 2026 as the festival's opening event.
