Edition 2025 — Bärenhöhlenfest

The 2025 Bärenhöhlenfest took place, as is traditional, on Ascension Day and the following three days — at the Bärenhöhle car park in Sonnenbühl-Erpfingen. The 75th edition since 1950 featured the proven program: cave tours, the Gebauer family funfair, catering by the Erpfingen sports club and the Bärentatze inn, and music by the Lauchertmusikanten Melchingen.

75th Edition as a Generational Folk Festival

The 75th edition of the 2025 Bärenhöhlenfest confirmed the festival's unique combination — the cave as the main historical and tourist attraction, a funfair, Swabian folk festival catering, and Allgäu brass band music. Over the years, the format has established itself as a family-friendly Father's Day outing; several generations come from the greater Reutlingen, Tübingen, Sigmaringen, and even Stuttgart areas.

The positive feedback and loyal regular visitors have prompted the municipality of Sonnenbühl to continue the 76th edition in 2026 in the same format. The Lauchertmusikanten Melchingen, the Gebauer family with their funfair, and the catering by the Erpfingen sports club have been reliable partners of the festival for decades.
