Bad Säckingen Scheffeljahr-Stadtfest — 200 Years of Scheffel

2025 — Preparation for the Anniversary

The 2025 city festival was already overshadowed by the preparations for the grand Scheffeljahr 2026. The city of Bad Säckingen actively communicated that 2026, with the 200th birthday of Scheffel, would be an exceptional anniversary occasion — the 2026 city festival would be correspondingly larger, with theatre, an exhibition, and a year-round accompanying programme.

The regional press (Badische Zeitung) reported extensively on the plans, funding was secured, theatre groups were engaged, and the Hochrheinmuseum prepared the exhibition "Scheffel and the Trumpeter City". The 2025 city festival itself was a classic Bad Säckingen summer festival in the city centre — cosy, tradition-conscious, with the typical High Rhine atmosphere between Baden and Swiss culture.
