Overview

The 2025 Pentecost Festival Week was celebrated around Pentecost in early June. The Pentecost Ride, as every year, attracted over 800 riders and thousands of pilgrims to Bad Kötzting. It was framed by the Horse Market, the Pfingstl Play, the festival tent, an art exhibition, and a fireworks display. Bad Kötzting thus reaffirmed its reputation for its Pentecost tradition as one of Bavaria's largest religious cultural events.

In 2025, the Pentecost Ride followed the tried-and-tested pattern since 1412: on Whit Monday, an equestrian procession from Bad Kötzting to Steinbühl, followed by the entire town and thousands of guests. The Horse Market on Whit Saturday, the Pfingstl Play in the town square, and the traditional folk festival with a beer tent rounded off the program.

The Pentecost Festival Week is one of the identity-defining festivals of the Bavarian Forest — it has been celebrated continuously for over 600 years.
