A New Running Event on Usedom

The Backyard Ultra Usedom is a premiere in 2026. There was no independent edition in 2025. The Backyard format itself is internationally established and has been spreading worldwide for years — on the Baltic Sea island of Usedom, it will be implemented for the first time in 2026 by the non-profit association Leuchtturm Thüringen e.V. at Schullandheim Peenemünde.

The concept is simple yet demanding: 6.7 kilometers per lap, a new lap every full hour, run until the last one standing. The first edition aims to appeal equally to hobby runners, ambitious recreational athletes, and professionals.
