Overview

In 2025, the Kaltenbrunn volunteer fire brigade again hosted its traditional Backofenfest with Maypole raising around the old community bakehouse on Coburger Straße on May 1st. From 10 a.m., the village community and guests from the neighboring Itzgrund districts gathered for the festive raising of the Maypole, brass band music, freshly baked bread, and pizza from the wood-fired stone oven.

The 2025 Backofenfest followed the usual schedule: heating the stone oven early in the morning, joint raising of the Maypole by the men of the Kaltenbrunn volunteer fire brigade, followed by a lively festival on the closed Coburger Straße in the village center. While the brass band played, the brigade served guests freshly baked breads, pizzas, snacks, and drinks. In the afternoon, coffee and cake were added, and the festival concluded in the evening around the decorated Maypole. With the proceeds, the fire brigade supports the work of the local brigade.
