Overview

The 53rd edition of the Backnang Street Festival 2025 once again gathered hundreds of thousands of visitors in Backnang's old town. For four days, bands and clubs performed on six stages, the Newcomer Contest brought young musicians to the stage, and partner cities from France, Serbia, and Poland served food at their stands.

The Backnang Street Festival 2025 took place as usual on the last weekend of June. On six stages, programs ranged from brass music by Swabian music clubs to Schlager and rock cover bands, and DJ sets in the late-night sessions. The Newcomer Contest brought regional young bands to the stage and awarded cash prizes and coaching sessions.

The festival weekend has been a firm fixture in the event calendar of the Murr metropolis since the 1970s and has become a supra-regional attraction. Backnang has around 38,000 inhabitants and belongs to the Rems-Murr district east of Stuttgart — the street festival weekends bring many times the number of visitors to the city each year.
