AXIS — Festival for Music, Performance and Art

The 2025 edition of the AXIS Festival transformed the Volkstheater Rostock into an experimental space for genre-crossing art on October 17th and 18th. The opening on Friday evening featured a concert by the electro-pop duo ÄTNA, who, in five weeks of rehearsals under the overall direction of Daniel Pfluger, had developed their own stage experience together with the theatre's actors and dancers. On Saturday, "Les territoires éphémères" presented an audiovisual dance performance by sound artist Dasha Rush and Butoh performer Valentin Tszin. The programme also included an intimate piano concert by Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip) in the choir hall, a short film by Sebastian Weise, and a live podcast by Jan Müller (Tocotronic).
