Overview
The Avantgarde Festival Schiphorst 2025 brought three days of experimental music, sound art, performance, and film to the farm in the Duchy of Lauenburg. With international acts from Scandinavia, the Baltics, France, and Hamburg, the 29th edition remained true to the festival's ethos — multidisciplinary, non-mainstream, democratic.
The 29th edition of the Avantgarde Festival Schiphorst in 2025 was once again one of the most important stages for experimental music in Northern Germany. For three days, international artists performed in Schiphorst — sound installations, performances, concerts, and film screenings alternated on the farm. Children and young people up to 16 years old were admitted free of charge when accompanied by an adult, a democratic gesture that has characterized the festival since its inception.
