Overview

The 2025 Aschaffenburg Carnival Parade was cancelled by Mayor Jürgen Herzing together with the Interessengemeinschaft Ascheberscher Fastnacht. The reason was the knife attack in Schöntal Park, past which the parade route traditionally leads. Sessions, children's masked balls, and senior afternoons at the clubs still took place.

In 2025, the traditional Aschaffenburg Carnival Parade did not take place. The decision was made jointly by Mayor Jürgen Herzing and the Interessengemeinschaft Ascheberscher Fastnacht (Aschaffenburg Carnival Interest Group). The reason was the knife attack in Schöntal Park, past which the parade route traditionally runs. An alternative route was not an option for the organizers.

Despite the cancellation of the major event, the usual carnival activities organized by Aschaffenburg clubs proceeded as planned: sessions, children's masked balls, senior afternoons, and smaller parades in the city districts marked the season.
