Overview

The 574th Beyenburg Ascension Procession 2025 continued the unbroken tradition. Approximately 1,000 participants marched with a brass ensemble through Beyenburg, three altars of blessing marked the 4 km route, and after the religious part, the Kirmes at the Schützenplatz transformed the day into a dense Wuppertal folk festival.

The 2025 edition confirmed the vitality of this unique tradition. Schützenbruderschaft St. Annae et Katharinae Beyenburg organized in cooperation with the Catholic parish, the 9 AM Holy Mass filled the monastery church of St. Maria Magdalena, and the subsequent Kirmes at the Schützenplatz brought the whole of Beyenburg together.

Programme

Holy Mass at 9 AM in the monastery church, followed by a 4 km procession with a brass ensemble and three altars of blessing. Afterwards, Kirmes at the Schützenplatz with amusement rides and a dance evening.
