Overview
The 174th edition of the Arnstadt Wool Market in 2025 once again drew tens of thousands of visitors to the city center of Thuringia's oldest town. Over the last two weekends of June, amusement rides, game stalls, and festival tents were in operation, complemented by the traditional keg tapping ceremony, family day, and the grand fireworks display. The Wool Market reaffirmed its status as one of Central Germany's largest folk festivals.
The 2025 edition continued the tradition unbroken since 1850. Showmen from all over Germany traveled to the event, transforming the market square and the Wool Market grounds in Arnstadt's city center into a large festival site. The highlights — the keg tapping ceremony at the opening, fireworks on the main weekend, and family day — were carried out as usual and attracted families from the Ilm district and the wider region. Thuringian Bratwurst culture was also a central gastronomic element in 2025.
