Overview

The Amberger Bergfest 2025 took place, as is traditional, in the summer around the Visitation of Mary on the Mariahilfberg. Eight Amberg breweries, nine barbecue stands, and additional cheese, pizza, and fish stands characterized the festival – without music, without rides, in the quiet atmosphere of a pilgrimage festival.

The Amberger Bergfest 2025 was attended by a large number of pilgrims, as every year. For nine days, guests from the entire Upper Palatinate and beyond flocked to the Mariahilfberg. Despite rising beer prices – which the local press (Onetz) reported on – the festival retained its traditional character: pilgrimage in the morning, "Brotzeit" (snack/meal) at noon, and a cozy get-together in the brewery tents in the afternoon.

In 2025, a vegan bratwurst option was also offered at the festival for the first time – a small innovation in an event otherwise characterized by tradition. The eight festival tents of the Amberg breweries were fully occupied on weekends and on the Patron Saint's Day.

Prices

Free admission. Beer prices in 2025 slightly increased compared to the previous year (press release Onetz).
