Overview

The 21st Altötting Monastery Market took place in September 2025 on Kapellplatz. Monasteries from Germany, Austria, and other European countries presented their products around the Chapel of Grace. Over 30,000 visitors traveled to the pilgrimage city to purchase monastery beer, monastery wine, honey, cheese, herbs, bread, and handicrafts from the monastic workshops. Free admission. The organizer, Altöttinger Klostermarkt e.V., organized the market again in cooperation with the City of Altötting.

The 2025 edition continued the tradition of the Altötting Monastery Market, established in 2004. For three days, monasteries and religious communities from the German-speaking world and beyond gathered on Kapellplatz to present their products and way of life. Monastery beer from the major Bavarian breweries, monastery wine from Austria, honey and cheese from the monastery's own estates, liqueurs from the monastery pharmacy — the diversity remained impressive. A spiritual accompanying program in the Chapel of Grace complemented the market activities.
