Overview

During Advent 2025, the Altötting Christmas Market once again attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors to the Upper Bavarian pilgrimage site. The approximately 80 wooden huts around the Gnadenkapelle, the daily visit from St. Nicholas at 5 p.m., the nativity scene exhibitions, and Advent concerts made the market one of the most atmospheric Christmas markets in Germany.

The Altötting Christmas Market 2025 continued its over 50-year tradition. From the 1st Advent until shortly before Christmas, the market opened on Kapellplatz, transforming the baroque pilgrimage architecture into a festive market backdrop. The approximately 80 wooden huts with carefully selected exhibitors offered crafts, regional specialties, and Advent decorations.

As every year, St. Nicholas visited the market daily at 5 p.m., accompanied by the Altötting Angels on weekends. The nativity trail through the market and surrounding shops, as well as the Advent concerts in the churches, complemented the market into a holistic Advent experience in Germany's most important Marian pilgrimage site.
