Overview

The 21st edition of the Altmühltaler Lammauftrieb in May 2025 once again attracted thousands of visitors to the market village of Mörnsheim in the Nature Park. Shepherd Sascha Gäbler drove his flock through the village center, while the shepherd's and natural products market with wool, felt products, and handicrafts ran concurrently.

The 21st Lammauftrieb in 2025 continued the established festival formula: the drive of the large flock on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, the shepherd's market with regional products, sheep shearing, and sheepdog demonstrations. Innkeepers offered specialties from the Altmühltaler Lamm, the new Lamb Queen was crowned on Saturday, and the Sunday service traditionally took place at the "Maria End" pilgrimage church. The drive is considered the most important traditional event of the Altmühltal Nature Park and strengthens the visibility of the regional brand "Altmühltaler Lamm".

Highlights

Parade of the sheep flock, crowning of the Lamb Queen, shepherd's market, sheep shearing, and sheepdog demonstration.
