Overview

The 21st season of the Altmühlsee Festspiele took place in June and July 2025 in the courtyard of the Altmühlsee Information Centre (AIZ) in Muhr am See. The programme included several theatre productions, a classical concert, and a musical evening. The festival reaffirmed its reputation as the most important open-air theatre in the Franconian Lake District.

In its 21st season, the Altmühlsee Festspiele maintained its proven concept: around 20 events over six weeks featuring main productions, tribute nights, and a classical concert. The festival's permanent ensemble was complemented by guest actors, and the stage in the AIZ courtyard once again offered its characteristic intimate atmosphere.

The non-profit association Altmühlsee Festspiele e.V. remained the organiser, able to rely on a loyal regular audience from the Franconian Lake District, Middle Franconia, and neighbouring Württemberg after 20 years of operation.
