Overview

The 11th edition of the Altmark Festspiele once again featured dozens of venues in the Altmark region during the summer of 2025. Opening in the Alstom locomotive hall in Stendal, with concerts in monasteries, churches, and manor houses. Artistic director Reinhard Seehafer once again spanned the program between classical, jazz, and crossover.

The 2025 season of the Altmark Festspiele confirmed the concept of “Culture in Special Locations.” Once again, the organizers used the Alstom locomotive hall in Stendal for the opening — the industrial building has since attracted a new audience that appreciates the contrast between steel and string quartets. The program combined internationally acclaimed soloists with regional ensembles and choir projects, drawing visitors from all over Saxony-Anhalt as well as from Berlin and Hamburg to the Altmark.
