Overview

The 51st edition of the Alt-Rixdorfer Christmas Market took place from December 5th to 7th, 2025, at Richardplatz. 186 market stalls, around 130 of which were exclusively from non-profit associations, groups, and clubs, characterized the scene. Approximately 300 Petromax lamps once again provided the distinctively warm atmosphere. Opening hours: Friday 5–9 PM, Saturday 2–9 PM, Sunday 2–8 PM.

The 2025 edition confirmed the market's status as Berlin's most atmospherically dense Advent event. The number of stalls, the Petromax lighting, the pony rides, and the camel presentation were, as in previous years, the distinctive features. International diaspora associations, church groups, and scout troops provided the audience with cookies, mulled wine, and handicrafts from their workshops.

The concept of consistent non-profit operation has proven to be non-negotiable over five decades. In Berlin's festival calendar, the Alt-Rixdorfer Christmas Market is thus a special case – and proof that in the Neukölln district, a distinct local tradition remains alive beyond the hipster scene around Sonnenallee.
