Overview
The Almabtrieb over the Königssee took place in 2025 according to old custom in early to mid-October. As every year, the exact date was not officially announced – the alpine farmers decided depending on the weather and the course of the alpine summer. Decorated cows from Saletalm and Fischunkelalm were transported in »Landauer« boats across the Königssee to the Seelände.
In 2025, the alpine farmers of Saletalm and Fischunkelalm once again celebrated the traditional Almabtrieb over the Königssee. The date and program were deliberately not announced in advance – the families organized the tradition independently.
Decorated with handmade Fuikl, the animals were loaded onto flat »Landauer« boats and transported in a roughly one-hour crossing to the Seelände near Schönau.
