Overview

The Ahrenshoop Art Museum presented an extensive programme of rotating exhibitions in 2025, focusing on the Ahrenshoop artists' colony and classical modernism. In addition to the permanent collection, monographic and thematic shows were presented, regularly including works from neighbouring artists' colonies such as Hiddensee and Schwaan.

The 2025 exhibition year at the Ahrenshoop Art Museum followed the institution's established profile: special monographic exhibitions on painters associated with the Ahrenshoop artists' colony alternated with thematic shows on classical modernism and German-German art history. The permanent collection, featuring works by Paul Müller-Kaempff, Anna Gerresheim, Friedrich Wachenhusen, and Alfred Partikel, among others, remained accessible year-round.

As in previous years, the museum attracted visitors from all over Northern Germany. Accompanying the exhibitions were guided tours, lectures, and special events, including concerts as part of the Ahrenshoop Jazz Festival and educational programmes for families and school groups.
