Afrika Festival Birkenried — Edition 2025

The Afrika Festival 2025 continued the long-standing tradition of the Pentecost event in the Swabian Danube valley. International African and reggae acts performed over four days, drum workshops and walking acts enthralled a multi-generational audience, and the African Market with textiles, jewelry, and crafts attracted buyers from Bavarian Swabia and beyond.

Kulturgewächshaus Birkenried e.V. once again confirmed its reputation as one of the most extraordinary cultural centers in Bavaria — a small, volunteer-run island of African and world culture, far from the major festival hubs of the country. An event that offers genuine intercultural encounters rather than superficial folklore.
