The African Festival in Elstal takes place every two years. Therefore, there was no festival in 2025 — the next edition is scheduled for 2026. The municipality of Wustermark has maintained this biennial tradition since its premiere in 2022, allowing ample time for careful preparation and a diverse program.
The African Festival in Elstal is held on a two-year cycle. Consequently, no edition took place in 2025 — the municipality of Wustermark traditionally plans the festival for 2022, 2024, 2026, 2028, and so on. This frequency is sensible as organizing a cultural festival of this format requires time and preparation.
Instead, in 2025, the municipality of Wustermark used the interim period to prepare sponsorship and artist acquisition for the 2026 edition. The program featuring Djang Kolins and the workshops was carefully curated — a result of this two-year preparation.
