Edition 2025 — Advent Marienweiher

The 2025 Advent season in Marienweiher followed the centuries-old tradition of the pilgrimage community — with Herbergssuche, Advent music in the basilica, quiet contemplation, and festive Advent services. The pilgrimage basilica is a particularly popular destination for pilgrims and families from Upper Franconia during Advent.

As every year, pilgrims and guests in 2025 used the Advent season in Marienweiher for spiritual preparation for Christmas. The Baroque basilica, with its Marian pilgrimage tradition dating back to 1189, formed the spiritual center of the four Advent weeks.

The program of Advent services, Herbergssuche, and musical devotions has been maintained for generations and significantly shapes the image of the Advent season in the Frankenwald.
