Overview

In 2025, the annual Gaufest of the Chiemgau-Alpenverband was hosted by one of its member clubs in the Chiemgau region (rotating principle). It was a regular edition with a traditional costume parade, Festival Sunday, and competitive Schuhplatteln. Preparations for the 88th Gaufest in Marquartstein in 2026 — celebrating the 100th anniversary — were in full swing in 2025.

The Gaufest of the Chiemgau-Alpenverband moves according to a fixed rotation principle among the member clubs. In 2025, another GTEV from the Chiemgau region was the host. The format remained the same: beer tapping, Heimatabend, Festival Sunday with a traditional costume parade, and competitive Schuhplatteln.

Parallel to the regular 2025 edition, the GTEV Marquartstein-Piesenhausen prepared the grand 88th Gaufest in 2026 — on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Chiemgau-Alpenverband, founded in Marquartstein in 1926. The festival committee, logistics, program choreography, and patronage by State Parliament President Ilse Aigner were advanced in decisive steps in 2025.
