In the run-up to the 775th anniversary in 2026, initial preparatory events and the annual village festival in the Groß- und Kleinrössen district already took place in 2025. Clubs, schools, and dedicated citizens met to plan floats and programs for the grand parade in 2026.

2025 was dedicated to the anniversary preparations. The local clubs — fire department, sports club, heritage society — worked on the concepts for the parade and the weekend program for 2026. The annual village festival in 2025 therefore had a special character: a dress rehearsal for the big jubilee, with significantly increased attention from the town administration and citizens.

In the sparsely populated region of the Elbe-Elster area, such anniversary festivals are rare but significant dates — an occasion to reaffirm village community and bring generations together.
