Overview

The 42nd Westphalian Hanseatic Day 2025 was hosted by one of the Westphalian member cities of the Westphalian Hanseatic League as an annual meeting. As every year, the Hanseatic Day brought together around 40 Hanseatic cities with their own market stalls, stage program, historical reenactments, and family activities. Since the 1980s, the event has been the annual highlight of the Westphalian Hanseatic League, conveying regional history and identity.

The 42nd Westphalian Hanseatic Day 2025 continued the decades-long tradition, where a different member city of the Westphalian Hanseatic League hosts the gathering each year. The Hanse Market, stage program, and historical reenactments characterized the event. With the rotation between Hamm, Soest, Lippstadt, Werl, Münster, and Paderborn, the Hanseatic Day makes the Hanseatic tradition of Westphalia accessible to a broad audience. In 2026, Hamm will be the host in its anniversary year of 800 years of Hamm.
