Overview

The "4 Tolle Tage" 2025 once again attracted tens of thousands of visitors to the Bayreuth city center. The Gaudiwurm paraded through Maximilianstraße with elaborately designed carnival floats, followed by the traditional costume competition. Several masked balls took place in the halls of the Stadthalle and Rotmainhalle, and Bayreuth's Fasching clubs offered Garde and dance performances.

The 2025 edition followed the classic format with the Gaudiwurm on Sunday as the central event. Fasching enthusiasts from Bayreuth, the surrounding Upper Franconian region, and day-trippers from the Franconian area created the typical Fasching atmosphere in the city center.

The "4 Tolle Tage" confirm year after year that even in Bayreuth — a city primarily associated with the high culture of the Wagner Festival — a vibrant folk festival and Fasching tradition exists. This contrast between Margravial elegance, Wagnerian heritage, and exuberant Fasching makes Bayreuth's cultural profile so diverse.
