In the year leading up to the anniversary, preparations for the 2026 35th-anniversary event were underway at the August Horch Museum and the InterTrab e.V. association. Concurrently, the city of Zwickau presented the history of the Trabant and its automotive industry in regular exhibitions.
2025 — Preparation Year
In the year preceding the anniversary, numerous regular events related to the Trabant took place in Zwickau: meetings of InterTrab e.V., special exhibitions at the August Horch Museum, drives, and regular meetups for the Zwickau Trabant scene. Together with the city, the organisers developed the concept for the special day on April 30, 2026.
