Overview

In September 2025, the regular late summer program of the Marienmünster Cultural Foundation took place — not an anniversary edition, but the usual format with concerts, readings, and vespers in the abbey. The foundation used 2025 for the programmatic preparation of the 20th anniversary in 2026 and consolidated its network of long-time supporters. The BLUEChurch and Bach programs were very well received, and following the September dates, the foundation announced the anniversary format for September 2026.

Regular Program 2025 as Preparation for the Anniversary

2025 was the last "regular" year for the Marienmünster Cultural Foundation before its 20th anniversary. The program continued with its proven diversity: Bach Night in July, Bach Hikes in the summer, Holiday Theater in August, BLUEChurch concerts throughout the year, Vesper services, and seasonal concerts. In September 2025, day-to-day operations were the focus, while conceptual work on the 2026 anniversary festival program began in parallel.

The foundation used 2025 to refine the concept for the anniversary festival: a deliberately symbolic date (exact 20-year mark on Sept 11), a four-day festival week instead of a single event, and the intentional inclusion of long-time supporters and artists. This concept culminated in the program from September 11 to 14, 2026.
