The 18th-Century Festival 2025 took place in May 2025 in Marbach's old town. The Schiller Town once again celebrated its connection to the era of Friedrich Schiller and Tobias Mayer — with a historical market, costumed actors, participatory dances, and a historical camp on the Schillerhöhe. The festival was saved from cancellation by the city council — a testament to the city's commitment to its cultural identity.
18th-Century Festival Marbach 2025
In May 2025, Marbach's old town once again transformed into a historical festival ground of the 18th century. Peasants, craftspeople, courtly guests, and musicians in period costumes brought the era of Friedrich Schiller and Tobias Mayer vibrantly back to life.
The continuation of the festival in 2026 followed an explicit confirmation by the Marbach city council — against the backdrop of a threatened budget cut. This decision underscored the festival's importance to the Schillerstadt identity.
