Edition 2025 — 150 Years FFW Willhof
In 2025, the FFW Willhof was entirely focused on preparing for its 150th-anniversary founding festival, which takes place only every 25 years. The board and festival committee collected donations for the restoration of the club flag, coordinated with partner brigades, and planned the three-day program. A founding festival of this magnitude requires several years of preparation within the Upper Palatinate fire brigade tradition.
Preparation Year for the 150th Anniversary
Unlike annual Volksfeste, the founding festival of the FFW Willhof is only held on round anniversaries – 2026 marked its 150th anniversary; the last celebration was in 2001 for the 125th anniversary. The year 2025 served as a crucial preparation phase for the club and the village community of Willhof.
The focus was on restoring the historic club flag, which was to shine in its full glory again for the flag consecration in May 2026. In parallel, the festival committee coordinated with all 13 fire brigades of the inspection area North – Land 4/3 to schedule the grand procession and plan the musical program in the festival marquee.
