In 2025, the FFW Neukirchen-Balbini focused on preparations for the 150th anniversary in 2026. The festival committee's work concentrated on the festival weekend in July 2026, the election of the Festival Mother and Festival Ladies, and the year-round anniversary program series. In its daily operations, the fire brigade continued its operational fire protection duties as usual.
Preparation for the 2025 Anniversary Year
A 150th fire brigade anniversary requires several years of preparation. The festival committee of the FFW Neukirchen-Balbini met several times in 2025 to coordinate the festival caterer, program, catering, traffic management, invitations to friendly brigades, and the accompanying program.
Election of Festival Mother and Festival Ladies
The central festive figure of an Upper Palatinate fire brigade anniversary celebration is the Festival Mother, accompanied by her group of Festival Ladies. The selection of these individuals took place in the year before the anniversary and was completed in 2025. The Festival Mother carries a symbolic representative role throughout the entire 2026 festival.
