In 2025, the Muldentalbahn Preservation Society also organized a festival weekend centered around the historic Penig–Rochlitz line, featuring special rides of the Schienentrabis, signal box tours in Wechselburg, and a small accompanying program — deliberately as a prelude to the major 150th anniversary of the Muldentalbahn in 2026.
Muldentalbahn Festival 2025 — Prelude
The 2025 festival weekend served the Muldentalbahn Preservation Society as a deliberate prelude to the major 150th anniversary in 2026. Special rides with the Schienentrabis through the Muldental valley, signal box tours in Wechselburg, small exhibitions on railway history, and a community program around the signal box made the weekend a summer highlight for railway enthusiasts and families in the Mittelsachsen district.
