Overview

In 2025, the Frankenwaldverein was in the final stages of preparing for the big 150th anniversary in 2026. Throughout the year, local groups organized guided hikes, family tours, and nature programs in the Frankenwald Nature Park as usual — from family-friendly hiking fun on the Regberg to a night hike in the autumn.

The year 2025 was dedicated to the preparation of the grand anniversary year 2026 for the Frankenwaldverein. While the ongoing club activities with over 20,000 members and 4,200 km of marked hiking trails continued, the festival committee of the Nordhalben local group worked intensively on organizing the festival weekend in the Nordwaldhalle.

In parallel, numerous club events took place during the 2025 hiking season — family hikes, guided tours on the FrankenwaldSteig, nature talks, and hands-on activities for children. The Frankenwaldverein once again confirmed its role as the oldest and most significant hiking association in the Frankenwald.

Prices

Club events are mostly free of charge, some guided hikes require registration with local groups.
