Grand Founding Festival of the Volunteer Fire Brigade Rechtmehring-Rosenberg
The Volunteer Fire Brigade Rechtmehring-Rosenberg e.V. was founded in 1876 and is celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2026. Rechtmehring is located in the district of Mühldorf am Inn, in the state of Bavaria, between Wasserburg am Inn and Haag in Upper Bavaria. Already at the 75th anniversary in 1959, the fire brigade marched through the town with 60 patron clubs – an impressive testament to the FFW's roots in the region.
From June 25th to 29th, 2026, the large festival tent will be erected on the festival grounds at the edge of the village. The festival opens on Thursday evening with the traditional Bieranstich (beer tapping), followed by festival evenings with live music from Lower and Upper Bavaria. The highlight, as experience shows, is the Festival Sunday with a church procession, festival mass, parade of the patron clubs, and a grand parade through Rechtmehring and Rosenberg.
On such an anniversary, the patron fire brigades from the surrounding communities play a central role. Preparations are already underway a year in advance with photo sessions of active and passive members in uniform, handover of new sets of uniforms, and information evenings in the 'Genussstuben' (enjoyment rooms) at the Kirchenwirt (church inn). In particular, the anniversary publication, the club chronicle, and the festival newspaper are created by a specially formed festival committee.
Beer from a local brewery will be served in the festival tent, along with Lower Bavarian delicacies: roast pork, dumplings, sausages from the grill, and salads. The evenings are hosted by various live bands; on youth night, party bands take over the program, and on festival Sunday, traditionally a festival band.
The 150th founding festival of the FFW Rechtmehring-Rosenberg will take place from June 25th to 29th, 2026. The entry in the event calendar of the municipality of Rechtmehring confirms the five-day festival week. It kicks off on Thursday evening with the beer tapping, Friday features the youth evening, Saturday the festival evening with a festival band, and Sunday the highlight with the festival mass and grand parade. Monday marks the cozy end of the festival.
Free admission. Food and drinks are sold in the festival tent at club-standard festival prices (liter mug of beer, roast pork, sausage).
