Overview

In 2025 — the year before the major 140th anniversary — the Ried Volunteer Fire Brigade maintained its club life as usual with drills, St. Florian's mass, setting up the Maypole, and smaller festivals at the club house. The big celebration was deliberately postponed to 2026 — in preparation for the round anniversary at the Steberhalle.

Like numerous Bavarian volunteer fire brigades, the FFW Ried celebrates its actual founding festival in multi-year cycles — typically for round anniversaries. In 2025, the annually recurring club events (annual general meeting, St. Florian's service, training evenings, sponsorship commitments with neighboring brigades) served as a quiet preparatory phase for the major 140th anniversary festival in 2026.

The 2026 date was announced in good time by the festival committee and the municipality so that friendly clubs, neighboring brigades, and former active members of the FFW Ried could keep the date free.
