2025 — one year before the big 100th-anniversary celebration — the town of Grünhain-Beierfeld prepared for the major event in 2026. The Herkules-Frisch-Glück Show Mine was open daily for visitors, offering regular tours, special events, and initial preparations for the anniversary festivities.
99 Years of the Show Mine — Preparation for the Anniversary
2025 was dedicated to preparing for the grand 100th-anniversary celebration in 2026. The show mine was open daily for visitors, offering regular tours, special events on mining memorial days, and smaller themed weeks.
The preparation of the anniversary medal, the planning of the miners' parade and flea market, as well as the restoration of individual tunnel sections characterized the year. The anticipation for the big festival in 2026 grew.
